6:21 PM - Remembering a moment in my Senior Year at Diliman
"There is a legend that everything that falls into the waters of this river -- leaves, insects, the feathers of birds -- is transformed into the rocks that make the riverbed. If only I could tear out my heart and hurl it into the current, then my pain and longing would be over, and I could finally forget." - By the River Piedra I sat down and wept (Paolo Coelho)
I remember friends often, and when I do, I remember them dearly. It's been nearly a year since I got suspended from school (If you don't remember why -- call me). Yet until today I don't feel any regret about what happened. It's not because I'm just a plain pain in the ass, but because it was at that time that I have known whom my friends really were.
The time it happened was the eve of the Annual Dance Night, organized by the Student Council. Everyone was coming to the party except for myself, and I can still recall that night, I spent at the old site of Aycee's hangout. He was the first friend I knew in LKS because he was fat then and had a very disturbing smile. Mac and Constantine followed soon and we founded the Gummy group, whose people I became proximate with for the rest of the school year. As time passed, I realized that my circle of friends was constantly growing. In addition; Francis was invited to the group because he was smart. Who would believe,That I only knew him right there and then. I realized that these persons became as close to me like brothers, We found time to hang out at Aycee's house every afternoon to discover new items in the internet, play Unreal and when there were times that we were tired to do so, we talked and talked and talked more like we were Philosophers in a Parisian Cafe. I recalled one moment when Mac, Aycee and I had this discussion under Lorenzo Ruiz's monument at UP BLISS. We took some pictures of ourselves and when we were tired we delighted ourselves to toknenes and pisbols. Mac told me that day that he wanted to die and Aycee wasn't even in love with Mithi then.
I'm sorry if I don't recall the story clearly. Anyway I'll return to my story... so there I was suspended, and wasted a month in my life pioneering the LKS website, and when I did return it was the time of the Annual Cheering Competitions. I was happy to return to my classroom where I felt safe listening to the old lectures. Fast forward three months, I formally apologized to Mrs. Chiong for damages to her reputation... hay think of all the shit you have to do just to pass Calculus. We're friends now, I hope.
*This is in commemoration of the juvenile mistakes I committed during my "HIGH"-school days. I am deeply touched by my classmates support during the course of craziness. Special thanks go to Daniel, Aycee, Mac, Cherry, Japoy and Heidi.
*Japoy, our ever famous classmate was featured in this "recent" Manila Times Sports Article, to those who are not aware, you may read this in the July 21, issue, Thank You.
US OPEN silver medallist John Paul Lizardo of La Salle banked on his experience to nose out UST's Giorgio Von de Guzman, 3-2, and bag the junior men's flyweight gold medal on Sunday in the Samsung Best of the Best tae kwon do championships at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City.
John Paul Lizardo
The 17-year-old Lizardo moved ahead 1-0 in the first round by hitting De Guzman with a 45-degree kick to the left side, and then kept pace with his rival in their fast and furious encounter the rest of the way to hack out the tight win.
Zamboanga's Cathy Jane Hampac, last year's most valuable performer together with Lizardo, kept the junior women's finweight crown by repeating over Angeles University Foundation's Cristine Faye Dagpin, 8-5, in another thrilling contest.
The tourney is organized by the Philippine Tae kwon do Association, managed by IMG, sponsored by Samsung and supported by Philippine Star, Accel, Colours, Kix, Ayala Center and 103.5 K. Lite.
